An Original Bell & Ross Chronograph, Manufactured by SINN, With Box And Papers

This bad boy reminds me of a few gauges in an airplane…a commander to be exact.

Some young brands have succeeded in building very loyal followings, and very quickly at that.  Bremont is one of them (see their forum watches.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3″ href=”http://forum.atgvintagewatches.com/forumdisplay.php?f=3″ target=”_blank”>here), and Bell & Ross is another.  Their forum at BR-AVO.com is a veritable hotbed of activity related to this 20 year old French brand.

While Bell & Ross is best known for their square, military inspired pieces, they welcomed a whole new set of buyers this year with their watche.html” href=”http://www.hodinkee.com/blog/2010/7/26/the-entire-bell-ross-vintage-line-for-your-inspection-watche.html” target=”_blank”>vintage line and officer’s collection.  Also, who could forget their new Compass novelty that we previewed at Salon QP?

But, long before Bell & Ross had the huge following they do today, and the international presence complete with an extensive e-boutique, their watches were made with a bit of help from the folks at SINN.  These early “Bell & Ross by SINN” chronographs have become fairly sought after by B&R fans, military watch collectors, and those who prefer the esoteric and storied.

The early Bell & Ross watches do exist on the secondary market, but they are not easy to find.  And what makes today’s example so great is that it actually comes with original box and papers dating back to the early 1990s.  This is a watch that represents an early phase in one of today’s hottest brands, and with box and papers, represents a pretty great investment potential over the long run.
