The history of the wood watch
by admin on Oct.27, 2010, under Review, What's New, Wood Watches
There has been some debate over who came out with the first wood wrist watch. Many have dabbled in this art normally reserved for the most adventurous craftsman but few have created a timepeice that truly dubs classic style rather than the apprearance of a 6th grade art project.
Quiksilver has come out with a cool one but only part of the case is actually wood. Others have faked the wood look using thin wood venere or painted plastic. This is almost pathetic but understandable becuase carving a wood watch requires serious skill and patience. One company that has recently come out with a seriously good looking wood watch is Mica. Mica has about 16 different models and colorways all hand carved from wood. From case to links it’s all wood except the movment, crown and double locking clasp. Check out mica today.
